Invigorate yourself in nature!

Mäntyharju offers excellent opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. We have almost a hundred kilometres of marked hiking trails, most of which begin near the centre of town.

The main trails connect Mäntyharju to Repovesi National Park, a distance of 33 to 50 kilometres depending on your route. There are more trails inside the national park itself. There you can rent a canoe or kayak simply by entering your PIN code, and you can stay overnight in cottages, cabins or even a Lappish hut. Further information about the trails in the area is available on this website and from Tourist Information.

The trails and routes presented here are especially ideal for hiking, mountain biking, paddling and cross-country skiing. Families can also enjoy year round our Forest Playground at Kisala, which is also the starting point for many of the trails. Accommodation can be found approximately every 20 kilometres along the trails, and every 10 kilometres or so there are campfire sites maintained by the municipality that can be used freely by visitors.

Welcome to Mäntyharju!

Mäntyharju is a quiet rural community with fewer than 7000 residents. It is easy to get here by train or car, while bus services are less convenient. Most residents live in the town centre, where the train station is located. For more information, see "How to get here" under Info.

If you are looking for total peace and quiet, we recommend visiting especially in autumn and winter. You can pick exactly where you want to stay from over 30 local suppliers of cottages and cabins.

Call us or send an e-mail and we'll be happy to help you!
